Caught in the flash of a camera: Late snowflakes and three musicians who, moments later and as soon as the warmth has returned, will start recording their first and at the same time last album together in this constellation. Red And Blue Don't Make Purple is now released on Label 11 about a year after the first meeting of saxophonist Christopher Kunz, drummer Florian Fischer and pianist Achim Kaufmann and tells in nine pieces about the joint recording process of the three musicians on two days at LOFT Cologne, who gave themselves to making music without a conceptual superstructure, in order to make a musically clear statement individually and as an ensemble for a time. Red And Blue Don't Make Purple can be heard as a documentation of an encounter; as a momentary pause and an admission to each other in the ongoing movement of three musicians who know how to create conclusive ends to ongoing processes.
